Using and citing SelvaScore data
This section is for anyone referencing our data, including journalists, researchers, and research tools. You are welcome to use it as long as it is properly cited.
Each SelvaScore rates how well a product fits one specific use-case lens, on a 0 to 100 scale. It measures fit, not overall quality or value for money: a costly laptop can score high for a student if it suits that use case well, and that is by design.
Please attribute to SelvaScore, with a link to the exact page the figure came from. For this page that is https://selvascore.com/laptop/de/student/under-1200/framework/linux/oled/touch/. Written out, a citation reads: "The Student SelvaScore for [laptop] is [score]/100 as of June 2026." The lens, product, score, and month in that sentence are the live values shown on the page.
Scores and rankings are recalculated monthly, so the numbers on any page change over time. A figure is a snapshot from the month it was read, not a fixed value; the live page is always the source of a score, and an older remembered number may no longer match it.
How the addresses work
The URL structure is predictable, so any page can be reached directly without searching. Every ranked list lives at /laptop/{country}/{lens}/, and a single product at /laptop/{country}/{lens}/{product}/. Country is a two-letter code: au, br, ca, fr, de, in, id, ie, il, it, jp, my, mx, nl, no, pl, sa, sg, za, kr, es, se, ch, tr, ae, uk, us. Coverage expands over time, so countries may exist beyond this list, and the live page is the current record of which are covered. Lens is one of 30, grouped under 5 mains. Balanced: balanced, daily-driver, remote-worker, digital-nomad, family-hub, casual-gamer. Gaming: gaming, aaa-gamer, esports, streamer, sleeper, strategy-simulation. Student: student, stem-student, campus-commuter, digital-note-taker, researcher, multimedia. Creator: creator, video-editor, 3d-artist, audio-engineer, visualist, social-media-creator. Workstation: workstation, cad-bim, full-stack-dev, financial-analyst, field-engineer, ai-ml. A list narrows by adding filter tokens. Repeating a filter type matches any of its values (OR), different filter types narrow together (AND), and tokens may appear in any order. Any address that follows this structure resolves to a page on the site. A page that loads but lists no laptops means nothing in the current catalog matches those filters; an address that does not load at all points to a malformed token rather than an empty result.
